Celebrate Life! The Workshop

celebratelifeCelebrateLife! The Workshop is an experiential workshop designed to develop one’s awareness of the truth of one’s humanity and sexuality. Targeted at youths or young adults (14 years and above), it aims to enable them to understand the values of chastity, morality and the natural moral law.

Facilitated by experienced trainers from the Family Life Society’s Celebration of Life programme, this four (4) hour workshop is secular and sensitive to the multi-religious and multi-cultural context of Singapore. It is specially designed to complement the “Growing Years Programme” by the Ministry of Education. Through videos, interactive activities, games and awareness exercises, students develop a greater awareness of the choices they face, especially in the areas of sexuality and the sanctity of life.

How is the Workshop conducted?

Participants are led through various topics through interactive exercises and activities, video clips, games, journalizing, visualizations, etc to help them experience the truth of their humanity, sexuality and the sanctity of life. Students’ feedback

  • “I give you my deepest Thank you!”
  • “It was an eye opener! Really! Really different from the usual sex education talks I’ve attended.”
  • “The booklet was beautifully designed.”
  • “The Case study, pictures and videos taught me a lot. It really shook me and made me realise how lucky I am to be born and to be here today.”
  • “The speakers are widely read and I think this topic appeals to students of our age. I was able to relate to them.”
  • “I have indeed learnt much about what life truly is, its meaning and the importance of managing your impulsivity. This should be conducted islandwide in Singapore and when students are in Secondary One because I think this workshop was too late for some of my friends, they already went ‘all the way’!”
  • “CELEBRATE LIFE!”

iWorkshop

This workshop on Character Education, Moral Reasoning and Human Sexuality attempts to help one to be more aware of the cognitive or learning process, and suggests how we could be functioning more optimally today. Unless we become critical thinkers and lifelong learners and understand the need for a coherent and rational framework to evaluate the massive inputs the information age has presented us with, we will be ill prepared to manage the many challenges modern life has to offer.

How is the Workshop conducted?

Drawing from philosophy, anthropology and psychology, the workshop proposes a model for character and moral education suitable for all races, creeds and religions.
