Counselling & Care

At Family Life Society, our therapists are committed to help, affirm, journey with and support all who come to us with difficulties in their personal, marriage or family lives, regardless of background, race or religious belief.

Areas of counselling

Personal

Compulsive behaviours, confusion regarding sexual matters, wanting to understand yourself better, or even wanting a listening ear to help make important decisions in life, our therapists can help you in your journey.

Family

The family is the first school of love. However, more often than not, various circumstances conspire to make family life hostile and bitter. Our therapists help families identify the source of unhappiness and journey with them on the path to healing.

Marital

Marriages may be made in heaven but are lived on earth. Tensions and difficulties between spouses can sometimes become unbearable. Our therapists can help spouses with reconciliation and improved communication.

Youth

The time of youth is a time for high ideals and big dreams. It is also a time of transition to adulthood and confusion. We counsel young people with relationship problems, academic concerns, difficulties in managing stress, problems with self-esteem and other personal concerns. Young people will find in our therapists an empathetic and non-patronizing voice.

Pregnancy

Life is always very precious, ours as well as the one that is cradled within the womb. Our therapists approach mothers who are facing unplanned pregnancies with understanding and compassion, helping them to work through their concerns.

Counselling with a Psychospiritual Component

A growing number of therapists are recognising the importance of integrating the spiritual needs of clients in the therapeutic process. For clients who request for this, our counsellors can help them discover their spiritual resources which can be important in their path to healing.

Professionalism & Confidentiality

Our therapists are trained professionals with many years of experience in helping clients with a broad range of concerns. They are members of several recognised bodies including the Singapore Psychological Society, the Singapore Association of Counsellors and the Association for Marital & Family Therapy (Singapore).

Information shared and all recorded materials in sessions are kept strictly confidential.
