Target Audience:
Parents with School-going Children
Synopsis:
Parenting can sometimes be a constant cycle of reminding, correcting, negotiating, and reacting, especially in today’s fast-paced and screen-filled world. Many parents wonder how to stay connected with their children while still setting boundaries and guiding behaviour.
This workshop is an experiential introduction to Positive Discipline, a parenting approach rooted in mutual respect that is both kind and firm. Through reflection, practical tools, and interactive activities, parents will gain greater awareness of how their own experiences and parenting style shapes the way they respond to their children.
Participants will also explore how behaviour is often communication, and how connection and curiosity can invite more cooperation than power struggles, nagging, or punishment.
Session Objectives:
By the end of the session, participants will:
1. Reflect on their own parenting style and responses.
2. Balance independence and boundaries by supporting autonomy while setting clear, consistent limits.
3. Encourage cooperation by understanding misbehaviour and responding with practical, connection-based strategies.
